ADMISSIONS MAS/M.PHIL. & PhD PROGRAMMES: 2024-25
APPLIED ECONOMICS RESEARCH CENTRE (AERC) UNIVERSITY OF KARACHI
ELIGIBILITY
PhD PROGRAMME:
Candidates must possess an MPhil degree in Economics from an HEC recognized University OR MPhil/MS (Economics) from a reputed foreign University OR Equivalent degree (Need to provide an equivalency certificate from the University of Karachi).
MAS/M.Phil PROGRAMME:
Sixteen (16) years of education in any discipline OR a related equivalent degree from an HEC recognized University/Institution with at least 2nd Division.
Applicants seeking admission based on DEGREES other than those awarded by Public Sector Universities of Pakistan must submit the Equivalence Certificate issued by the Equivalence Committee of the University of Karachi.
Candidates awaiting their final exam results can also apply at their own risk. They MUST submit their final transcript before the commencement of the 2nd Quarter.
The eligible candidates will be required to qualify for an admission test (sample test papers are available on AERC's website). GAT (Subject) conducted by NTS or GRE (Advanced Economics) Test scores in the last two years may be acceptable in lieu of the test.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
👉 Application Deadline: JANUARY 22, 2024
👉 Admission Test: JANUARY 29, 2024
👉 Interviews: FEBRUARY 01, 2024
TEST CENTRE
The Admission Test will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, Karachi, at 10:30 AM sharp. Candidates from other cities are advised to appear in the AERC ONLINE ADMISSION TEST on the same date and timing.
FEE AND SCHOLARSHIP
All students joining the programme will be required to pay monthly tuition fees. Selected students in MAS/M.PHIL may be eligible for a scholarship depending on their academic performance and financial needs.

Completed Application on a prescribed Application Form (available on AERC's website or obtained from the Graduate Studies Programme Office, AERC) against CASH/PAY ORDER of Rs. 3,000/- for M.Phil & Rs. 5,000 for PhD only, must be received by JANUARY 22, 2024.
